Thanks Keith! I don't think my situation will be as easy (we're not modular) but hopefully I can get something similar figured out. I don't have a separate monitor (only a laptop) which makes it more portable but harder to keep hands and eyes in the right directions. I'm changing offices next week though so I'll have a chance to try some things out.

Hope you and Carissa have a great Christmas! We're headed to Canada this year so we'll miss all the Wisconsin fam!

Hey Justin!
So basically I asked the corporate services crew at my place of work come by and raise one of the parts of my desk in my cube up to about 42". That's where my keyboard and mouse sit. Then about 24" above that I asked them to place a shelf to set my laptop on so it's at eye level and I don't have to stare down at my screen. Another section of my desk is still at the same "sitting" height it always was and it has my laptop dock and second monitor. I'm thinking of requesting a second set of hardware (dock, monitor, keyboard, mouse) so I can just pop my laptop over and start stand-working immediately. We'll see how that goes.

Not sure if this is helpful in your situation. All our cubes are modular so shelves/desktops are easily movable.

When you say "part of my desk at work is a standing desk" what do you mean? How did you do this? Did you buy something to go on top of your desk? I am very interested in making a standing desk at work but much less interested in taking out the current desk in my office...

Yeah, I've got a few of those "don't ever do this" kinds of things driven into me before too. Now that I'm into reading spec on certain things, I sometimes even find where those "don't ever do this" things are completely wrong!
Thanks for the comment!

Hah, I totally feel that sentiment. I've still never used @font-face but I just recently started using Google Fonts. When I first learned web design, it was pounded into my head to only ever use 'web safe' fonts and I think it's stuck with me through the years.

cheers.
